As COVID-19 continues to disrupt industries across sectors, businesses are shifting their focus to the health and well-being of employees. Companies are taking several measures to ensure safety and hygiene standards are maintained at the workplace. At Smartworks, we are working in collaboration with our teams and clients to prioritize and incorporate required changes to adapt ourselves to this ‘new normal’. Social distancing is going to play a critical role for businesses and brands in the post-COVID world. To ensure the same at our workplace, we have institutionalized highest standards of sanitation through regular temperature checks, placement of sanitizer stations at all touch points, making masks available and mandatory at all centres amongst others. We have also stepped up the routine cleaning and disinfecting equipment, all surfaces (metal, knobs, and workstations) and floors, not just that we also disinfect/ sanitize all packages/deliveries upon receiving. There is also a lot of work happening on the technology front as well as we believe it will shape and reboot the workspace industry at large. Right from providing mobile-based touchless building access for members to health self-declaration forms, cleaning updates and all-important announcements /notifications, we are leaving no stone unturned to enable a safer & efficient office experience. Smartworks app IOT powered communication platform takes care of everything from booking meeting rooms, providing concierge services, managing touchless interactions, logging in requests, raising support tickets and is a one stop shop for all events related information, offers and support function.
What are some of the issues that pose challenges during and after the transition of workforces back to their workspaces?
Navigating this pandemic will be the biggest challenge, and companies are adopting newer ways of working as the health and safety of the workforce will be the top priority. The global outbreak of COVID-19 has led to some very stringent measures that are non-negotiable, putting personal hygiene and deep cleaning and sanitization at workplaces in the center. Pre COVID-19 employees, their interactions, socializing, and ways of working will change as they will need to keep practicing social distancing before, during, and post office hours. While relaxations are coming in, parts of public transport or limitations around the same will remain a constraint for employees to reach workplaces. Staggered break timings, de-densifying offices, work rosters, preventive checks, no real events or gatherings, sanitized private vehicles, following physical distancing mar-ups to ensure safety will become the new normal.
