Punjab’s Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann, has approved the construction of 13,400 km of link roads across the state, a project estimated to cost Rs 2,436.49 crore. The initiative aims to bolster economic growth throughout the region.
The state government is investing in an extensive upgrade of its rural link roads, with plans to widen and strengthen the infrastructure. This decision is part of a broader initiative to improve state services and facilities. The Chief Minister also reviewed the ongoing construction of several new medical colleges throughout the state. Work is well underway in locations such as SAS Nagar (Mohali), Kapurthala, Sangrur, Hoshiarpur, and Malerkotla. These improvements aim to enhance rural connectivity and healthcare access across the state.
The Chief Minister (CM) has urged relevant officials to devise a comprehensive plan for the renovation of medical colleges in Amritsar, Faridkot, and Patiala. It is anticipated that these improvements will position these institutions—and the state itself—as leading centres for medical education in India.
