What is the inspiration behind your design firm’s name?
The name White Noise Design Studio was inspired by the calming, subtle comfort that white noise provides. Just as white noise creates a sense of balance and tranquility, we design spaces that are both serene and impactful.
What is that one design book/movie you found inspiring?
One design book that deeply inspired me is The Architecture of Happiness by Alain de Botton—it beautifully explores how spaces influence our well-being. As for movies, The Grand Budapest Hotel stands out for its magnificent sets and meticulous production design, offering a visual feast of color and style.
In what ways does your personality reflect in your designs?
My personality shines through in my designs by embracing ornate details and a timeless approach, steering clear of passing trends. I focus on crafting spaces where every element is thoughtfully curated to tell a unique story, bringing depth and character to each project.
What inspires you in your day-to-day architectural practice?
I find inspiration in the everyday mundane moments—whether it’s the play of shadows as I walk, the shifting shades of the sky, or the fashion I see on the streets. To me, everything around is like a framed piece of art, waiting to inspire the next design
Who is your favourite architect?
My favorite architect is Antoni Gaudí. His ability to blend organic forms, vibrant colors, and intricate details is truly inspiring. His work showcases a perfect harmony between creativity and craftsmanship, making each structure feel like a living, breathing piece of art.
Do you have a signature style? The one design philosophy you swear by?
I don’t have a signature style, but I believe in infusing soul and life into every design. My philosophy is to create spaces with character and history, avoiding a sterile, brand-new look. It’s about making each space feel lived-in and meaningful.
A hobby that sets you apart?
I wouldn’t say I have a hobby that sets me apart, but I do love hosting and setting up the dinner table as a communal space. It’s about more than just food—it’s creating a setting where people can come together to share stories, laughter, and life.
A message to those few young practising Architects out there?
master the technical aspects of the field, but never forget to trust your gut and design instincts. No one can teach you what looks good—that’s your unique perspective. Embrace it, as that’s what sets you apart.

What is the most challenging aspect of your job, and how do you overcome it?
The most challenging aspect of my job is having the patience to stay motivated throughout the year-long commitment each project requires. Not seeing the final result until much later can be tough, but it makes the completion that much more rewarding. The journey is a test of perseverance, but the end result always makes it worth the wait.
What do you think is the next big trend in architecture?
I’m not one to follow trends, as I believe in timeless design over trend-driven aesthetics. However, I hope the next big shift in architecture moves away from overly simplified spaces and embraces more ornate, detailed designs that add richness and character to our environments.
Describe your ideal workspace.
My ideal workspace is thoughtfully designed to boost productivity while prioritizing comfort and flexibility. It would feature open areas for movement, cozy nooks for focused work, and customizable elements that adapt to different tasks—creating a balance between function and comfort.
What is the most rewarding part of being an architect for you?
The most rewarding part of being an architect is understanding a client’s lifestyle and earning their trust. It’s incredibly fulfilling to create solutions that enhance their everyday life, turning their vision into a space that truly improves their day-to-day experience.
