Dubai’s Medcare Palace is a premium, 88-bed, women and children specific facility that offers advanced medical care and maternity services. KGD Architecture provided a warm, patient-friendly environment by ensuring that every single element was designed with the patients’ convenience and comfort in mind. The ground floor of the three-storeyed structure consists of a reception, emergency rooms, radiology rooms and OPD. The first floor houses the ICU, NICU and other critical spaces, while three types of IPD rooms occupy the second floor. The top floor features specialist departments and hospital administration.
In keeping with the brief, the hospital, which caters to the upper class, doesn’t look like one. A French theme that exudes richness and royalty runs through the interior in a way that makes it functional, modern and low-maintenance. Biophilic design was given due prominence by reinforcing the central atrium space with landscape and hardscape. Right from clutter-free patient care spaces to the pastel-hued décor, all aspects were designed with utmost care and attention to detail, maximising patient comfort without compromising on elegance, privacy or a positive ambience that’s conducive to healing.
