Manyata Earth Song office, is an experience centre for a development project. Designed as a prequel, this centre aims to sensitize visitors to the environment they are about to enter. The design epitomizes simplicity, minimalism, and rawness, showcasing clarity of thought.
Free of embellishments, the seamless built space merges perfectly with the landscape, appearing as though it was always a part of the context or, in fact, has organically grown from it. Offering an artistic and contemporary interpretation of the earth rising from the ground, with spaces carved into it.
A deliberate effort has been made to experience the earth as a dense and thick layer through the presence of cavity walls. These cavity walls carry functional relevance as well. They conceal within them all the architectural services such as electrical, rainwater harvesting pipes, and HVAC, seamlessly blending into the monolithic and raw form of the structure, disappearing never to be noticed.
The slender aluminium frames gently delineate the interiors from the exterior. The frames capture the fabulous vistas of the landscape. Continuity in the material experience is established, and the language is kept intact inside and out through the same texture paint finish. To ensure the interior finish complements the lighting conditions for both the interior and the natural hues of the sun, experiments were conducted to perfect its tonality and texture.
The furniture follows a contemporary-chic language, ensuring the focus remains on the experience and not on individual elements that make up the space. The perfect amalgamation of all these smaller details results in a space that instils a sense of complete calm and peace upon you while you are inside.
Earth Song is a melody in the form of architecture, providing a pause in a fast-paced world, and inspiring you to feel, reflect, and appreciate the beauty around.
