A brand that is synonymous with sumptuous Asian food in Mumbai – NomNom – has opened its newest outlet at Khar, the posh suburb of the city. The team at Sumessh Menon Associates has carved out alluring cosy nooks including a charming alfresco dining area which displays a sculptural burgundy metal tree as an ode to the Asian roots of the brand.
Interplay of tones and textures of the carefully curated natural material palette including stone, coir, cane, and wood, seamlessly flow through the entire space to create an inherently warm, earthy, and zen-like vibe.
Right from the stunning indoor-outdoor bar made in chip mosaic artwork portraying Asian panoramas, the ceiling design with a custom grid installation light reminiscent of Asian paddy hats to the wood and marble top tables, and two-toned grey flooring, everything reflects the Asian elements and colour palette.Â
The piece de resistance, however, is the larger-than-life bell installation at the entrance, which along with the subtle hints of colourful artwork on the walls of the pod seating spaces, the stunning banana fabric custom light installations, add to the exuberance of the whole space.
Menon has woven intricate details into the often ignored corners, whether it is the shadow artwork detailing given to the outdoor awning or the custom rope-tied balustrade detail of the outdoor space or even the calibrated detailing added to the columns and walls.
The team at Sumessh Menon and Associates has ensured that the interiors create the perfect background to experience and enjoy a sumptuous meal.
